Prof.Sangyoon Han held the Dream Lecture, a series of knowledge lectures for youth organized by the Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies, at Dong-A High School in Busan on October 11.
Dream Lectures are lectures given by scholars who received their doctorates with the support of the foundation on various topics to help middle and high school students plan their vision and career paths.
Prof.Han was selected as the 33rd overseas study scholarship recipient of the foundation in 2010 and received his doctorate from UC Berkeley.

Professor Sangyoon Han was honored with the Young Scientist Award at PIERS 2024 in Chengdu, China. This award recognizes his paper on silicon photonic MEMS titled, “Harnessing MEMS to Expand the Horizons of Silicon Photonics: Optical Switch, Programmable Photonics, LiDAR, and Ultrasound Sensor.”
PIERS (Photonics and Electromagnetics Research Symposium), sponsored by The Electromagnetics Academy, has been a prestigious and long-standing symposium on photonics and electromagnetics since 1989.
